I Love Disney

I Love Disney

Lately my guy and I have been watching Disney movies more often. He hasn’t seen too many of the animated classics, so when we get a special movie night, we just pick one at random. I’ve always been a Disney fan—raised kids who love it even more than I do—but these days, I’ve been watching these movies with a different kind of awareness.

I realize now—every time I’ve watched a Disney movie, something stuck with me. A character, a line, the moral of the story. But I never stopped to ask why. I just chalked it up to being a “good movie.”

Looking back, I can see those moments were planting seeds. And now I’m finally digging them up, discovering what they grew into.

What’s wild is how I’ve connected with different characters at different points in my life. Almost like the stories were waiting for me—ready to teach me something new depending on what I was going through at the time. Lol… that’s subconscious therapy at its finest.

Now I can see it: the lessons hidden in the innocence. The hard smacks across the face you don’t see coming. The quiet truths slipped between the songs and the colors. And the weight of wisdom carried in those moments—it isn’t always light. Some of it is heavy, the kind that sits with you, makes you think twice, makes you see life differently.

It amazes me that something so simple could hold so much about fear, power, resilience, bravery, curiosity, and love. I’ve always loved Disney for their brilliant stories, but this is a whole new level of appreciation—for the lessons I’m learning now.

This is the beginning of my Disney series: the truths Disney has been teaching me all along. The messages hidden in the movies are more real than I ever noticed before. Ha… and we thought they were only for kids.
